The Problem With Copying Someone Else's Skincare Routine
By Dr. Lazuk, Co-Founder and CEO of Lazuk Cosmetics® | Esthetics® | Alpharetta, GA
Today, I want to address something that social media has made very common.
Copying someone else's skincare routine.
I understand the appeal. You watch a beautiful creator with glowing skin. They share every product. Every step. And you think… if I do exactly this… I'll get those results.
Here's the problem.
Their skin isn't your skin.
Their skin type. Their barrier condition. Their hormones. Their climate. Their age. Their inflammatory history.
None of that is yours.
A retinoid that transformed their skin might wreck your barrier. A niacinamide concentration that's perfect for oily skin might not address your main concern at all.
Skincare that works is personalized. Full stop.
The best influencer content teaches you principles. Not protocols to copy blindly.
What does your skin actually need right now?
That question requires your biology. Not someone else's.
May your skin glow as brightly as your smile.
