The Right Way to Build a Skincare Routine From Scratch

By Dr. Lazuk, Co-Founder and CEO of Lazuk Cosmetics® | Esthetics® | Alpharetta, GA

If you feel like you're starting from zero with skincare…

Good. That's often the best place to start.

Because most skin problems I see? They're from routines that got too complicated too fast.

Here's the foundation.

Step one: a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser. No sulfates. No fragrance. Just clean.

Step two: a hydrating toner or essence. Not an exfoliating one. Something that replenishes moisture and preps the barrier.

Step three: a targeted treatment. One. Niacinamide, peptides, or vitamin C, depending on your main concern.

Step four: a moisturizer that suits your skin type.

Step five: mineral SPF. Every morning. Non-negotiable.

That's it. Introduce new things slowly. One at a time. And give each addition four to six weeks before evaluating.

Simple. Consistent. Evidence-backed.

May your skin glow as brightly as your smile.
